Education: A Part-time Member should have graduation degree from a recognized university. 2. Eligibility Conditions: Appointments will be made keeping in view the provisions of SEBI Act,1992. As per SEBI Act, 1992 the members shall be persons of ability, integrity and standing who have shown capacity in dealing with problems relating to securities market or have special knowledge or experience of law, finance, economics, accountancy, administration or in any other discipline which, in the opinion of the Central Government, shall be useful to the Board.
The suitability of nominees will be assessed in terms of academic and professional qualifications, specific experience f track record and academic training in the field of Securities Market, Financial Law & Regulations and Economic Management. For assessing integrity, information on criminal record, financial position, personal debts, refusal of admission to or expulsion from a professional body, sanction applied by a regulator and similar bodies and previous questionable business practices etc. will be relied upon.3. Fees: A part-time Member shall be entitled to receive remuneration by way of a fee of rupees ten thousand only for each meeting of the Board attended by him.
A part-time Member while on tour (including the journey undertaken to attend a meeting of the Board) shall also be entitled to travelling allowance and daily allowances at the same rates and scale as are applicable to an Additional Secretary to the Government of India.Age: Not exceeding three years and shall not hold office beyond 70 yearsAddress. Selection Procedure : The appointment shall be made by the Central Government on recommendation of the Financial Sector Regulatory Appointments Search Committee (FSRASC) as provided in the SEBI (Terms and Conditions of Service of the Chairman and Members) Rules, 1992. It may, however, be noted that the FSRASC is free to identify and recommend any other person also, on the basis of merits, who has not applied for the post.
