ABOUT THE PROJECT:


LINKAGES, funded by USAID/PEPFAR and implemented by FHI 360 is designed to provide technical assistance (TA) to accelerate the ability of civil society and public-sector organizations to plan, deliver, and optimize services that reduce HIV transmission among key populations (KPs) — including sex workers (SWs), men who have sex with men (MSM), transgender (trans) women and people who inject drugs (PWID) — and to improve their enrolment and retention in treatment and care. Globally, LINKAGES aim to increase access to and demand for comprehensive HIV prevention, care, and treatment services while strengthening systems for planning, monitoring, evaluating, and assuring the quality of services across the prevention-to-care continuum for KPs.

As part of the TA, LINKAGES is supporting national governments in India, in designing/developing effective social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) materials/interventions to impact the HIV/AIDS continuum of care i.e. reach, test, treat and retain for key populations.

LINKAGES also aims to develop effective SBCC tools and interventions for their on-site activities for key population and orphan and vulnerable children of key populations for e.g., on enhanced peer outreach approach, peer navigators and index testing, children-focused/friendly communication along with testing other innovations with use of ICT4D.

BASIC FUNCTION :


Reporting to the Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist, LINKAGES/India, FHI 360, the role of Communication and Knowledge Management Officer requires a strategic thinker with strong background in social and behaviour change projects, who has experience of both the media and development sectors, preferably in HIV/AIDS sector in India. S/he should be good at managing competing prioritise and multitasking.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Social and Behaviour Change Communication:

  • Provide strategic inputs on creative and overall communication strategies for LINKAGES India;
  • Develop creative and technical briefs to guide the communication agency;
  • Support the SBCC team in designing and implementing SBCC interventions for above site and on-site interventions for key populations and OVC
  • Manage the contracts with external agencies commissioned to support the project deliverables
  • Provide strategic inputs in use of ICT4D in social and behaviour change communication

Knowledge Management:

  • Provide input to the strategic development of the HIV communications portfolio; e.g. by initiating new ideas on how to maximise project effectiveness through knowledge management
  • Design, develop, manage and maintain various knowledge management products for LINKAGES India, including blogs, policy briefs, project briefs, infographics, factsheets etc.
  • Process documentation of workshops and events and other innovations of the project
  • Support in preparation of monthly, quarterly, yearly report and project related presentations based on project requirement
  • Support the Communication Specialist in maintaining repository and cataloguing of the knowledge management products
  • Work closely with other teams to deliver knowledge management products

Overall, 10-15% of travel required to cluster districts of LINKAGES.


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS SET:


Total 5-6 years’ experience in content development, behaviour change communication and knowledge management, with at least a Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Mass Communication/Journalism, Media and Communication or other related subjects Experience managing projects in an international development setting, especially experience on HIV/AIDS Experience of working with orphan & vulnerable children will be an added advantage Experience of working on USAID or PEPFAR funded project would be preferred Experience in writing Content/Technical brief and ability to manage creative agencies Demonstrable experience of quality programme-making and the use of media for development Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi, and the ability to negotiate tactfully and effectively Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and strategic thinking Ability to work on own initiative and organising time effectively within a range of often conflicting deadlines. Capacity to juggle competing priorities and a busy programme of work while working to an agreed strategy Good interpersonal skills


COMPENSATION:


Compensation levels at FHI 360 are equivalent to market rates within the development sector. However, offers shall be based on salary history, relevant experience and qualifications.
