WRI India is seeking an intern in Bangalore for the climate governance work housed in WRI India. With his/her knowledge of the sub-national policy and institutional landscape relevant to climate change, and social development in India. The climate governance work seeks to enhance the participation of key non-state stakeholders in climate change decision-making at the national and sub-national levels.
The intern will undertake and oversee a range of responsibilities for the governance team as are listed below.
- Mapping key government, civil society and media stakeholders in the national, Maharashtra, and Karnataka cases relevant to the climate discourse – to support us with our climate governance workshops
- Identify key events and developments (existing as well as potential) – to support us in leveraging our publications and events
- The final deliverable will be a presentation on the process and results of the stakeholder mapping
- Degree in social sciences. Master’s preferred
- Strong research skills including knowledge of key policy and institutional dynamics at the state level in India
- Experience of writing and using the tools like MS Office for capturing and presenting information
- Good communications skills, willingness to engage with the team members in project discussions
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
The internship will start from 19th November and end on 29th December 2018.
