Join us as a Business Analyst and work on the end to end implementation of Wholesale Credit Risk models
What the Business does
This role is based in the Wholesale Basel Models Implementation (WBMI) team at Risk Solutions.
Risk Solutions is part of the Services vertical providing Technology Solutions to our Risk franchise across Credit, Market, Enterprise and Operational Risk. The unit provides Expertise & Insight, Data & Tools, High quality and stable system platforms. Teams are spread across London, Edinburgh, Gurgaon and Chennai.
The Wholesale Basel Models Implementation (WBMI) team within Risk Solutions handles implementation of Wholesale Credit Risk models for covering Bank’s Credit Risk RWA’s ~ £260 bn while interfacing with Business, Credit, Finance, IT, Modelling and Regulatory teams spanning across business functions ,franchises, geographies.
The scope of the models extends to, but is not necessarily restricted to: Probability of Default (PD) Loss Given Default (LGD) Exposure at Default (EAD) Economic Capital Stress Testing
As a Business Analyst your key responsibilities will include: Dialogue with end users on all aspects of models developed by RA&M (Modelling) team. Document underlying model methodology, formula specification, end-to-end process flows and downstream uses ensuring models are implemented in accordance with internal design and policy standards. Working closely with data and quantitative analysts to design model prototypes. Sourcing feedback from users on model usability, performance and new methodology. Running workshops with Credit Risk IT to design model interfaces and end-to-end processes. Analysis of reference data to support model access and automation of inputs. Providing solutions to address implementation issues raised by users and Risk IT. Write quantitative and functional test scripts and support user acceptance testing. Test wholesale credit risk models prior to implementation in live systems. Assist with the preparation and delivery of training material, including user guides and FAQ documents. Represent RMW at working groups and model committees where required. Managing Credit Models Helpdesk for BAU end user support on WCR model queries and clarifications
The Skills you’ll need
In order to be successful in this role, you must have the following skills & experience: Master’s degree or diploma from a recognised and reputed institution in areas of management, engineering, commerce, statistics, mathematics At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience related to credit risk analysis, BASEL regulation and business analysis in financial risk domain. Business analyst and credit risk domain specialist Risk certifications – CFA, FRM, PRM IT Skills – Good hands on MS Excel and know-how of VBA, SQL, SAS would be an added advantage
Essential Experience: (Must have)
- Good understanding of Banking Book Credit Risk, associated systems and processes.
- Fair knowledge of the types of wholesale banking business and in particular the product types.
- Ability to demonstrate strong background of structured analytical skills and credit process design.
- Proven track record of planning and delivery.
- Creative and innovative approaches to solving complex problems.
- Ability to take ownership of and complete tasks specified within the team plan.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Strong verbal and inter-personal skills, with the ability to sell new concepts to end users and interact with management.
- WCR specialist – subject matter expertise (SME) of wholesale credit products, processes & lending practices
- Regulatory framework insights – BCBS guidelines, Basel II/III, IFRS 9, ECB regulations
- Business Analysis – Business requirement gathering and documentation Creating IT & modelling artefacts, use cases and prototypes IT SDLC methodologies - Agile delivery in Scrum/Kanban Stakeholder Management – Demonstrable ability to deal with multiple & varied engagements with business, credit, risk, IT, finance, audit, modelling & regulatory stakeholders
