Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Job Summary – (Role Summary)

Handling the team of Reconciliation Analyst and Specialist and ensure all reconciliation are prepared with in stipulated timeline and as per IHG guidelines. Ensure that the integrity of all work and interactions with customers are completed in accordance with IHG policy and procedures and compliant with Sarbanes Oxley legislation. Mentoring and coaching of Analyst, Senior Analyst and Specialists. Providing them operational support as and when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities of the role)

  • Responsible for review of team operations, specialized transactions, and service quality.

  • Manage the team and ensure all the work is done with in stipulated time and service level agreements are always green.

  • Ensure bank reconciliations are prepared within the given time as per Month end time table and all reconciling items are identified and explained

  • Ensure Cash flow positions are correctly forecasted and managed.

  • All queries from stakeholders are acknowledged and answered timely

  • Coach and develop team members: hire, fire, assess, discipline, document performance, and recommend salary and classification changes.

  • Direct process to ensure proper controls are in place for the team and direct efforts to ensure team productivity is measured, scored and communicated according to standards. Oversee resolution of discrepancies and advanced systems issues.

  • Actively manage the business continuity and disaster recovery plans for the regional process.

  • Close integration with other Process as performed jobs may affect service delivery to them, offer value-added service, offer improved service.

  • Ultimately accountable for all aspect of service delivery in his/her regional process – quality, efficiency, effectiveness, internal controls, risk and an excellent customer experience

  • Defining KPO of team members

  • Mid Term & Yearly appraisal of team members

  • Ensure 100% succession plan for team & your self

  • Handle hotels/ counterparts queries independently.

  • Liaising with various department & offices within IHG for smooth flow of payments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated intermediate to advance Accounting knowledge.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of PeopleSoft, Excel, PowerPoint or other E.R.P. system.

  • Demonstrated clear and concise communication skills including adapting both verbal and written communication to the needs and level of the user and audience.

  • Presentation skills necessary for various level audiences (peers, managers, departments, owners).

  • Demonstrated ability to assess, prioritize, delegate, and meet timelines as necessary for their routine work and various projects. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities.

Qualifications

MBA (regular), CA/CWA, CA-Inter/ ICWA-Inter

ACCOUNTABILITY

Number of employees supervised: Direct- 5-15

Decision making responsibilities (Key Decision Rights)

  • This position is responsible for allocating the work among team members on regular basis

  • This position answers questions and assists in resolution of complex queries from team members

Experience

5 to 8 years of progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency and understanding in one or more functions related to the position. Prior people management experience preferred

Internal Key Relationships

  • Hotel General Managers and Controllers, Regional Controllers, Regional Business Service Center Leadership - to ensure compliance with specific Service Level Agreement and resolution of customer issues.

  • Primary corporate contact for hotel personnel, business support, regional controllers, and ownership groups as it relates to bank reconciliation matters.

External Key Relationships

  • Franchise and Owners - for the purpose of continuous improvement of all areas in process scope in compliance with specific Service Level Agreement.

  • Various banks to establish the reason of payment, receipt and non payment

  • Key vendors to know about the payment status.
